The out of pocket max is the limit set on the amount you must pay for covered services in a single plan year. Once you have paid deductibles, co-payments, coinsurance payments and the amount totals this limit, then your healthcare provider must pay 100% of your approved medical expenses for the rest of the year. This is only on the beneļ¬ts that are a part of your policy. The out of pocket max can vary from plan to plan and the lower this amount, the higher your premiums are likely to be.
